Can you move a lawnmower?

Yes. Lake City Mover can move a lawnmower.

Our movers are professionally trained to move lawnmowers and many other types of equipment. Lawnmowers are built in all different types of ways. Each type of lawnmower is moved in a unique way.

Electric robot mowers are perhaps the easiest lawnmowers to move. These lawnmowers have no fluids to worry about and they also are the smallest. A robomower can even be packed into a box, and should be if possible.

All electric mowers regardless of size have no gasoline tank and thus the moving process is a little less complicated. Larger electric mowers, like push and propelled models are to be broken down and folded into a smaller size. The handles are loosened and then folded over the engine into a more compact and movable position. Once this is done the mower is then wrapped, to cover the blades, and loaded onto the truck.

Traditional lawnmowers that have gasoline tanks should be drained of gasoline before attempting to move the machine. The easiest and safest way to get rid of the gasoline is to turn the lawnmower on and let the engine burn the gasoline away. If you can, do this days before you plan on moving. If the gasoline is not drained or used up by moving day, we may not be able to move your lawnmower, without disposing of the gasoline, which is a lengthy process.

Lake City Mover does not transport hazardous materials and therefore cannot move your lawnmower when it is full of gasoline. This same rule applies for all gasoline powered equipment, including weed whackers, edgers, blowers and trimmers alike. Please advise all of these types of equipment should be drained of gasoline prior to moving day.

Larger riding lawnmowers, also called zero-turn lawnmowers, will incur a bulky item fee for moving them. These fee’s usually range from $75 to $250, depending on the size of the item and the distance of the move. Again, riding mowers should also be drained of gasoline before you move them. Please turn the mower on and let the gasoline burn up, or find another way to drain the gasoline, perhaps by using a drain valve on the tank, if available. Always use the safest measures possible or hire a mechanical expert to handle this process.

Moving large lawnmowers requires either a truck with a lift-gate or a trailer ramp door to move. This may reduce the availability of your move because of the specialty equipment required to complete and safely move this item.
