Depending on your personal packing needs, your packing services will costs will be dictated by how much packing labor and materials are needed.

Some packing jobs require an extensive amount of packing, for example, a full-service packing of a 3 bedroom home. This will be at least 4 hours of work with 2 to 3 packers and will have additional material costs. Smaller pack jobs may only include televisions, or mirrors and thus the cost is around $100.

Packing services also include the labeling and sealing of all of your boxes contents. We even offer unpacking services at your destination if you would like.

The Cost of Packing Your Home

The cost of a full-service packing job should be similar to the cost of your moving job, unless you are moving a long distance. It usually takes the same amount of resources to pack a home as it does to move a home. The cost of packing services are usually the same or 10% less than your moving cost. That said, if your moving job is around $1,000 for a local 2 or 3 bedroom home then your packing job should be between $900 – $1,000. Again, this is a mere estimate and your particular home could only cost $500 – $700 to pack. Be sure to go over the inventory thoroughly or request an on-site estimate.

Our full-service packing jobs will include the packing of your living room, which can include pillows and blankets from seating areas, table lamps, electronics, statues, pictures, artwork, electronics, televisions and much more. We also will pack your office area, which includes computers, cords, speakers, and other equipment you may have. Packing your kitchen and dining area is very important as they contain the most fragile items in the home. And finally, your bedrooms, which are usually the fastest areas to be packed and only include linens and clothing for the most part.

The Cost of Partial Packing Services

A partial pack service can range from just a single room to several rooms or be limited to particular items. Every customer has different needs and we will listen closely to what you need help with, and then send out the proper materials and packers for your job.

It is very common that a customer may want help packing their kitchen. In this case you can expect that the packing costs will range in the few hundred dollar range. Most kitchens and dining areas have extensive amounts of fragile glass, ceramics, crystal and china. For these reasons, the packing process is at its slowest in the kitchen area. That makes the labor cost increase and you can expect 2 – 3 hours of packing for this area of your home, plus the cost of materials.

Kitchens are usually packed with dish-packs, medium sized and large sized boxes. All of these boxes are $5.00 or less and you could assume at least 10 – 20 boxes for packing this area. Packing food into smaller book sized boxes is preferred if you have a lot of canned goods, however we cannot pack and move any opened containers or liquids. We will use at least 50 lbs of packing paper in a standard kitchen and maybe more. This ensures all of your fragile items are well protected for your move.

The Cost of Packing Your Wardrobe and Clothes

Many customers just do not have an efficient way to pack and move their clothing. We always offer wardrobe boxes for your closeted clothing to reduce any potential wrinkles. It is not very time consuming to hang your clothes into these boxes and thus this process can easily be scheduled on moving day. You can even have our movers unpack your wardrobe boxes and remove the debris once you arrive at your new home.

Wardrobe boxes cost around $20.00 and can be expensive if you need a larger quantity. You can absolutely have us pack your clothing into a medium sized or large sized box to save on material costs. The same process is usually taken when emptying your dressers with clothes. We always ask that all furniture be emptied prior to your move.

The Cost of Packing Single Items

Single item packing is the cheapest type of packing service we offer. This occurs when a single item is overlooked or set aside for the movers to pack. Sometimes a homeowner is not comfortable packing a large piece of art or other item. We will gladly bring the materials necessary to pack whatever item you need us to.

Often times certain items are overlooked when a customer does their own packing. Professional movers do require most everything be packed which includes items like lamps, artwork and mirrors. Packing these things prior to moving day will save you money, but if we pack them on moving day, you can expect at least a $10 charge per piece of art, mirror or lamp.

Some items are extremely fragile like marble or glass tables and may require crating services. This type of packing is the most expensive and requires some planning ahead to get done on time for your move. Please let us know if you have any items you want crated like chandeliers, artwork, art decor, statues, marble or granite table tops, etc.. Crating services generally range between $250 -$1,000, depending on the amount of items to be crated and how large they are.

The Cost of Custom Packing Services

If you have a very unique item that needs packing then we will have to provide customized packing services for you. This usually involves the cost of several broken down pieces of cardboard from heavy duty boxes like wardrobes and dish-packs. We then gently wrap the item with foam and or paper as we see fit. This is followed by moving pads and then the cardboard is cut and fit into place for your item. The cost of this type of custom packing varies widely, but should not exceed a few hundred dollars.
